City in transition economies Silk city The Competitive project is represented from Georgia. On 9th April 1991 our country revived its independence and now it is along with the list of developing countries, though it has always been an inheritor of very rich history and culture. The country was known to the ancient world by the name \"Kolkheti\" right Kolkheti\'s powerful king Aieti owned the golden fleece which was pursued by Argonauts on a ship through a very dangerous and difficult traveling across black sea the immortal myth about this traveling, Argonauts and the love of Colchis Medeah and Iazon was an inexhaustible topic of the literature of ancient world Georgia is situated on the boarder of Europe and Asia. With its geopolitical location it has always been a linking passage for the trading communications it was also one of the important and active links of the legendary route of the Silk Rode which started in 138 BC from china and existed until 18th century the rout is divided into two parts 1) the north route - the Caspian Sea, Albania (AzerbaiJan) Georgia (Shida Kartli, Imereti, the river Rioni, the Black sea,) and than European ports 2) the south route - the north Iran the south of Caspian Sea, Mesopotamia and lastly the Mediterranean Sea . Many cities were built along the whole route and there appeared settlements. The silk culture was adopted and mastered in Georgia. The fact that a silk tree (mulberry tree ) culture had always been popular in our country helped to it greatly. mulberry tree was used for various application: the fruit for producing drinks and for food, the bark for building and for designing by tree. Silk manufacture in Georgia has a long history. One can see the existence of place names of silk culture up today, the silk culture continued to be promoted and manufactured during Soviet period too. \"Silk of Kutaisi\" had a great approval. There was even a joke saying that Argonauts have come to get not the gold fleece but to kidnap king Aieti\'s capital city Kutaisi\'s silk, as well as therapeutic drugs including the expert of recipe of mulberry drinks - Medeah Unfortunately this culture is getting regressed. all the conquerors, and they were a lot, in order to subordinate the country, first of all used to cut down the wine and mulberry culture. The competitive project \" the city of transitional economy \" appeared to be interesting for us just to revive this direction Conditionally we called our project \"Silk City\". Nowadays when passage of Silk rode is taking place again, for the sake of historical conception and our wish to get the silk road revived our competitive topic silk city to out mind is actual and interesting. Tourists are attracted very mach by the unique \"Silk Rode\" which has been functioning since 1887. Since Kutaisi use to be one of the mane links of the north route of the silk rode , the area for our silk city has been chosen on the territory of Kutaisi . The settlement silk city is located on the North-East of the city, nearby the botanical garden.on the right bank of the Rioni river. The conception of our project is as follows on the square of 4000 m 2 a certain amount of manufacturers create tree-nursery agriculture of the mulberry culture. These tree nursery is considered to be extended to the direction of botanical garden, where several species of this culture is growing so as too revive mulberry culture having tight collegial and professional connections, at the same tame manufacture will be created for producing silk-worms: selection, thread spinning manufactory and other departments, rooms for feeding worms, for gathering leaves and there storage. Silk manufacture is seasonal country. It starts from the period of growing the leaves on mulberry trees and lasts until we get silk bugs about 28-30 days. then thread-spinning manufactories start working. For the perfect functioning of the complex, the manufacturing proceeds from the thread spinning to the creating of products e. g. there will also work modeling and sawing department where they will create silk texture product and then these products will be exhibited and promoted on the cat paths. The exterior of the building we\'ve tried to be alike to its function. The main part of the building repeats the form of the silk worm. as an architectural element we add vertical stairs to the building in order to make gathering the leaves of the trees comfortable. also there will be a road net of roads made of solid material to move about. in the building is functioning a small hotel ad a conference hall on the roof there are considered to be installed solar devices.
