Location: Daryan Municipality Frontage, Daryan, Iran
This project reimagines the city's primary entrance as a symbolic and functional node, embodying interconnected chains and the unity of Daryan's residents. Situated directly in front of the Daryan Municipality building, the square serves as the city's official face—greeting visitors and residents alike. Spanning 13 square kilometers, the design negotiates the site's varying elevations and slopes through a strong symmetrical plan, harmonizing hardscape and softscape to create a coherent and impactful streetscape. The intervention resolves existing traffic challenges by linking six roads, establishing this location as a critical junction within the city's structural network. Beyond circulation, the project enriches the urban fabric with extensive greenery, utilizing specialized plant species selected for their adaptability and visual contribution. The central monument, currently in design and construction, will serve as the square's culminating focal point—anchoring the composition and reinforcing its civic identity. The project was made possible through the generous support of a private donor, with both design and construction executed by the Azar Omran Sazeh Gounei Office. This collaboration represents a realized contribution to landscape architecture, demonstrating how thoughtful design can transform a transportation intersection into a dignified, unifying public space. Also, it's necessary to mention that the central monument is currently under construction and will be completed in the near future, while the surrounding landscape architecture is fully realized.
