Tusheti Seasonal Settlement (Ethno Psycho-Physiological Tourism) This is a bachelor’s project, the idea of which initially arose from observing the challenges currently facing the mountains and the depopulation of mountainous regions. Tusheti, one of Georgia’s most beautiful and remote regions, where permanent residents are now nearly gone due to harsh climatic and other environmental factors, provided an excellent foundation for an interesting project. At the beginning of the research, the village of Omalo was chosen, as it is the center of Tusheti and was originally intended to host an airport whose construction had started but was never completed. This unfinished airport subsequently became the cornerstone of our bachelor’s project, around which the settlement was developed with various new functions. The seasonal settlement offers not only tourists a unique opportunity to experience the local culture and way of life but also benefits the local Tusheti population. Residents will be able to return to their land without fear of complete isolation during the winter. The project aims to complete the unfinished airport in Omalo and establish cultural and educational facilities, such as an assembly hall, an art and exhibition space, wellness centers including saunas, Pilates and yoga studios, and organized cycling tours (off-ride). Residential areas include: Cottages for short-term visitors; Family houses with greenhouses, allowing winter stays and crop cultivation; Long-term family homes, which include private plots for gardening, giving tourists or Georgian citizens a chance to escape urban chaos and reconnect with nature temporarily.
