Location: Georgia, Kazbegi
The presented architectural initiative is located in the landscape of Kazbegi municipality — on the lower slopes of the Mkinvartsveri massif, where the dramatic topography determines the concept and spatial logic of the project. The project envisages the revitalization of the existing hiking route: harmonious integration of the cable car track with the landscape, renewal of service infrastructure and ecologically low-invasive amenities. The design is inspired by the historical meteorological object — the so-called "Bethlehem Hut", which today functions as a mountaineering shelter. It is perceived as a spatial reference and an artifact with commemorative value, around which a new experience of modern mountaineering culture and high-mountain topography develops.
