Lapomme Cider Hub
Author: Mariam Skhirtladze
Area: 6590 m2
Location: #14 Pushkini st. Gori, Georgia
Lapomme is a contemporary cider factory and public space in Gori, Georgia, addressing apple overproduction while creating a cultural hub. Despite Shida Kartli’s premium apple varieties, a large share of the harvest goes unsold, leaving farmers with losses and waste. Cider production provides a sustainable solution, turning excess apples into eco-friendly beverages while supporting the local economy. Beyond production, Lapomme serves as a gathering place for the community, merging agriculture, culture, and design. Its sculptural form, angled roofs, and visible steel joints embody transformation and resilience, symbolizing Gori’s potential for innovation rooted in tradition.
