Location: Minsk, Belarus
The inspiration behind this project came directly from our charming client. Ambitious, modern, dynamic, stylish, and stunningly beautiful — that’s how we’d describe both Vasilina and the apartment we created for her. Although it started out as a standard one-bedroom layout in a typical panel building, a clever bit of re-planning allowed us to carve out a separate bedroom and a kitchen-living area. All storage was moved into the hallway — and trust us, the client asked for a lot. We placed two large wardrobes opposite each other. One is fully mirrored, making the space feel bigger (and perfect for selfies), while the other, clad in trendy wood veneer, serves as a gorgeous photo backdrop. The entire apartment is styled in cool gray tones, with blue and navy accents that add character without overwhelming the space. To soften the geometry and avoid harsh angles, we introduced rounded shapes in both the walls and the furniture. These smooth curves subtly reference the Memphis style — echoed in the decorative feature wall, custom-made sideboard, coffee tables, and the patterned rug. The bedroom is compact and wrapped in deeper, moodier tones that create a cocoon-like sense of comfort. The star feature is a huge mirror behind the headboard that adds depth and drama — a decision we had to defend fiercely (especially against the client’s mom!), but one we’re incredibly happy with. There wasn't enough room for a closet in the bedroom, but we made space for a sleek metal clothing rack and a chic vanity table. In the bathroom, we played with texture — combining smooth and tactile Italian tiles in a cool gray palette. The bold choices? Colored sanitary ware and an asymmetrical mirror that carries the Memphis vibe right into the most unexpected corner of the home.
