Location: Vake District, Tbilisi, Georgia
This 145 m² apartment, designed for a couple with two children, is a fusion of functionality and a unique, original design approach. Situated on the sixth floor, the residence offers a distinctive architectural context: a natural rock formation on its western side seamlessly integrated into the interior. The rock, treated with specialized waterproofing solutions and a protective lacquer, retains its texture while preventing dust, adding a touch of intrigue to the design. Accessed from the eastern side, the apartment is perched on the sixth floor of a multi-story building, creating a dramatic contrast between the natural and the urban. This combination infuses the design with a dynamic energy, making the space come alive. The design challenge was to create a project with a truly individual signature — one that not only highlights the unusual condition of the natural rock but also transforms it into a defining, unique feature of the home. This emphasis on individuality makes the design stand out in its uniqueness.
