Monastery complex near Kvareli Lake
Area: 7500 m2
Location: Kvareli, Georgia
The goal of the project: an attempt to take a step forward in traditional Georgian monastic architecture. It developed over centuries and reached the peak of development during the construction of great cathedrals. Since then, Georgian architecture seems to have stopped. With this project, we would like to show that by following the centuries-old canon, however, with a new, different construction method, it is possible to protect all of this, and to be contemporary with the era.
