Museum of Memory is a proposed history museum located on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi, Georgia, near the First Public School. The project explores how architecture can be transformed from a physical space into an emotional experience, with the aim of awakening a sense of patriotism and reminding visitors why the struggle for freedom remains an important part of Georgian identity. Every element of the project is shaped by this idea. The floor plans and circulation follow a continuous trajectory, reflecting the way history develops through connected events and turning points. The museum takes visitors through 15 significant moments in Georgian history, translating them into different spatial and emotional experiences through changes in scale, light, material, movement, and atmosphere. The symbolism continues throughout the architecture. The main facade is formed by a solid outer layer interrupted by deliberate cracks, allowing controlled fragments of light to enter the building. These cracks represent the damage inflicted by historical events, while the light passing through them symbolizes hope and the persistence of freedom. Inside, the central courtyard creates a quieter space for reflection. Its visual language echoes the main facade, but in a calmer and more open expression, offering a moment of pause after the intensity of the historical journey. From the overall plan and circulation to the facade, courtyard, and individual details, the project uses architecture to connect physical space with memory, emotion, and the enduring pursuit of freedom.
